A Day to Remember: Lorrie and Nathan's Wedding in Palos Verdes

Lorrie and Nathan's wedding is one that I am going to remember for a long time.

Right from the get-go, it was all about the guest experience, and it really showed on the day-of. Every guest I had the opportunity to chat with emphasized that they felt the day was planned with so much love and care.

Locating the ideal venue for Lorrie and Nathan definitely demanded persistence. We combed through so many options in the Bay Area, but none resonated. So, we widened our search and stumbled upon La Venta in Palos Verdes. The couple let us know at the beginning of the planning process that they wanted the food at their wedding to be exceptional, so we booked them a tasting at La Venta prior to signing any contracts to make sure that everything was up to their expectations. It was everything they were looking for — a beautiful view and a fantastic catering team. We are so happy to have found a gem that made their wedding day special and uniquely theirs.

On the day of, I found myself crying alongside the couple all day. During set-up, I picked up a custom cocktail napkin that had snippets of notes they wrote each other while long distance, and I was already crying before the wedding had even started. From the ceremony to the speeches, the love in the room was overwhelming (her dad even gave us a shout-out during his speech! love that for us). I will definitely be thinking for about their father-daughter dance for a long time. It was just so evident how much Lorrie’s dad adores her, hands down one of the most touching moments of the day for me.

And the personal touches? They were everywhere. From Lorrie's drawings of their cats turned into temporary tattoos, to the seating chart adorned with pictures of the couple with their guests – it was pure magic. But can we also talk about that raw bar for a moment? It was a huge hit with all of the guests, and so unique!

What really struck me the most during the planning process with Lorrie and Nathan was the trust they placed in us. They handed over their vision, their dreams, and we worked together to make it all come true. Seeing them revel in the love around them was incredibly moving, a reminder of why I fell in love with wedding planning in the first place. I get to be a small part of the love story our couples share on one of their happiest days! What could be a better job than that?

So, here's a little nugget of wisdom from Lorrie and Nathan’s day: focus on the love, and everything else falls perfectly into place.
